The tide brings back what should be lost. A rusted key, a wedding ring, a child’s shoe, a name carved into stone.

The villagers do not touch them.

A woman once lifted a silver locket from the waves, salt dripping from its chain. That night, she dreamed of a life she had never lived—a husband’s hand in hers, a home with blue shutters, a child calling her mother.

The dreams did not fade with morning.

By dawn, she was gone.

Only the locket remained, half-buried in the sand, waiting for someone else to claim it.
